Strategic Plan and Masterplanning

The act stipulates that the strategic plan for the development for the Grangegorman Development Area must provide for:

  • education & health facilities
  • access & use of facilities by residents
  • services – roads, water, drainage & utilities
  • public transport requirements
  • refurbishment of listed buildings
  • recreational facilities
  • research & development facilities

The GDA advertised for written submissions to guide the Agency in progressing the required Strategic Plan with the closing date for submission Wednesday 18 June, 2008. The GDA has submitted the draft Strategic Plan to the Minister of Education and Science and it is envisaged that this Plan will be available by Autumn 2009 for consideration in draft format.

In preparing the required Strategic Plan the GDA welcomed written submissions and observations on the project.

Masterplanning

On 1st and 2nd October 2008, Master Planners Moore Ruble Yudell (MRY) unveiled the final work on the masterplan. See presentations below:
